Welcome to my blog! My name is Aziza and I am 31 years old! Well I will be on the 16th October this year, which is not too far away. I cannot tell you how many times I have started this blog from scratch because I felt like it wasn’t interesting enough but I am hoping this will be the last time and that this blog grows from strength to strength. Anyway, let me tell you a little bit more about me. I am happily married, a housewife (for now) and I am currently studying towards my Management Accounting qualification through CIMA. Oh the plans we had for 2020…
It is hard to believe just how much the world has changed since last year this time. I remember fondly going to a crowded stadium in Monza to watch the Italian Formula 1 at the beginning of September, the cold winter weather was starting to creep in, it was getting darker earlier in the evening, and it was almost my 30th birthday.
Since then, we have both decided and moved back to South Africa, I started, and left a job, and have finally moved into our new home where we hope to extend our family next year. There is so much that has happened in the world since then, it is hard to put into words. On one hand, I miss Italy, I miss the privacy we had there, I miss the safety we had. At the same time, I am glad we got back to South Africa before Italy was shut down for COVID-19. We will never know what would have happened had we stuck to our original plan of returning home in March instead of January, especially since Italy was placed on complete lockdown from the 9th March 2020 – 18th May 2020. Would we have stayed there for the duration of the lockdown or would we have opted for repatriation flights?
It was sometime in November when we decided we would come back to South Africa. It wasn’t an easy decision, life in Europe was easy, it was safe. We never went to bed worried that we would wake up to a home invasion or robbery, I remember a few times that our front door was unlocked and even woke up to our balcony doors wide open one morning. I never worried about going out alone during the day because everyone was using the train, everyone was walking around to get to places, it was how life was there. We decided to move back and it was time to start looking forward to restarting our life again, settling down, and making plans to start our family.
I remember standing on our balcony in Italy on New Years Eve, it was absolutely freezing and was drizzling lightly but my husband and I were watching the fireworks filled with excitement and hope to build a new life here in South Africa after almost 3 years away. This year was going to be the year we found an amazing house, we found awesome jobs back home, and we traveled a lot! Well it is safe to say that all that traveling I had planned on doing didn’t happen and I am focusing on getting ahead with my studies while we prepare for our move into our (almost) forever home that we are so excited to move to later this month.
This blog will be about a whole lot of things, from what study methods have worked for me, to organisation tips, and a whole lot more. It will be real, tried and tested recipes and tricks to make life easier for you.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy working on the content!
